Finished in spring of 2016, Macbeath Hardwood is a wood-framed structure designed by Louis Joyner Architect. The 3000 s.f.. building is located in Edinburgh, IN -- the heart of North America’s veneer and hardwood industry.
The exterior cladding is a beautiful steel siding that boasts strong squared-off ridges. Thermally modified poplar accent panels were placed throughout the surface of the structure.
Natural light enters the lobby through the large Quaker aluminum windows that stack from floor to ceiling facing the morning sun. The crown jewel of the space is the staircase to the second level. It is constructed of solid hardwood supplied by the client. Tovey-Perry Co. fabricated custom steel railing to compliment the floating look of the walnut stair treads. A mixture of polished concrete, walnut, and maple make up the flooring, walls, ceiling, and stair treads. The sample tables and sales counter feature "live edge" walnut slabs.
